This season will feature 22 teams operating under a Swiss-style league format, which allows teams to face varied opponents throughout the campaign, reducing repeated fixtures.

A consolidated league table will determine the strongest sides, who will then progress to the knockout playoffs to decide the champion.

Guinness, the lead sponsor and a major supporter of old boys leagues in Uganda, reaffirmed its commitment to elevating matchday experiences and strengthening alumni networks.

“Guinness is proud to stand with the Mwiri League as a partner in this experience. We are here to elevate matchdays with the bold Guinness spirit that brings excitement, connection, and great vibes to every moment,” said Mercy Atwongyeire, Project Manager for Premium Beer at Uganda Breweries Limited.

Matchday One is expected to deliver high-intensity action on the pitch and a lively off-pitch atmosphere. Entertainment will be headlined by MC Kats, while board games and other social activities will run throughout the day.

Fans will also benefit from full-service engagement from league partners. NIRA will provide national ID renewal services, and Marie Stopes will run a free medical camp.

Other partners include NRG Radio, MTN, SafeBoda, Kenbright, Jonakee Holdings and Across the Nile Resort & Adventures.

Suici FC are the defending champions, having lifted the main shield in May this year.
